We-Fi Training by Asian Development Bank (ADB)

Women-led Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (WMSMEs) are vital contributors to economic growth, yet they continue to face significant barriers in the business landscape. Despite their immense potential, women entrepreneurs often remain an untapped market due to systemic challenges such as limited access to capital, persistent gender biases, and structural hurdles on both the demand and supply sides. These obstacles create a substantial financing gap, making it crucial for financial service providers to step up and take proactive measures to empower women and unlock their full economic capabilities.

Recognizing this critical need, Quantara Consulting, representing BPR Nusumma, attended the intensive four-day WE Finance Code Training hosted by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) from August 11 to 14. Our participation in this global initiative reflects our deep commitment to advancing women's financial inclusion and supporting Indonesia's formal adoption of the Women Entrepreneurs Finance Code. We are dedicated to taking an active role in closing the financing gap by transforming how financial services are designed and delivered to women entrepreneurs at every level.

The training focused comprehensively on "Financing Women-led MSMEs," exploring actionable strategies like utilizing sex-disaggregated data (SDD), conducting gender-intentional research, and developing tailored financial products. The most profound insight we took away from this experience is that gender-intentional finance is not about providing "special treatment", it is about acknowledging, understanding, and ensuring that women have truly equal opportunities to access finance.
